For years now, I have watched the demand for digital marketing talent increase year over year, and it's not going away any time soon. My husband, brother, most of my friends, and I work in digital marketing, and we all love what we do. 

Mondo just put out a study of b-to-b and b-to-c companies called "The Future of Digital Marketing." According to the study, 80% of companies will increase their digital marketing budgets in the next year, but the study highlights talent as a critical area of growth this time around.

Top skill sets include:

  • Digital/social (54%)
  • Content creation (44%)
  • Big data/analytics (33%)
  • Mobile strategy (30%)

This study also highlighted the high demand for video marketing talent. We recently dedicated a full-time video marketing resource to my digital team, so I know this is important. 

Video will increase as a key driver of customer engagement from 13% today to 61% in the future; and social will increase from 38% today to 49% in the future.
